AMPtastes watches what music you’re listening to, and delivers recommendations whenever you start listening to a new song.

If you have a last.fm account, and use a media player supported by last.fm (or last.fm radio), then AMPtastes will deliver a discrete recommendation within a few seconds of a song starting. AMPtastes selects a combination of both obvious and obscure tracks, to help you broaden your musical world.

You can also configure notifications, to either appear whenever a new song plays, or only when you request one. Also, you can choose to let AMPtastes copy recommendations to your clipboard automatically. This lets you quickly search your music store of choice for your next favourite song!

AMPtastes is still in development, and following the feedback from our last version, we’ve scaled back the interface dramatically, but we still plan to add more functionality, including preview streams of recommendations, and more.

AMPtastes 2 is out February 2009. In the meantime, you can still download our original Winamp-only version.
